Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha (R) Puttur, previously known as ‘Puttur Education Society’, was founded in 1915, to provide quality & value based education to children of rural areas and lower economic group. The institution has spread its wings through 80 educational institutions from KG to PG and professional courses, with more than 18500 students pursuing their studies.
With immense pleasure and pride we present ourselves as the Premier Institution of Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha (V.V.S.) formerly known as Puttur Education Society (P.E.S.) which has almost a century’s history having been established in 1915 itself.
Vivekananda College of Arts, Science and Commerce – recently elevated to the status of Autonomous College, presents itself as an educational institution striving for excellence with holistic approach. Vivekananda College was established in 1965 and celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 2015. These 58 years of fruitful existence has been a saga of planning and implementing; building and rebuilding; growth and progress; introspection and celebration.
There underlies very great principle, a noble reason and an exemplary vision behind the founding of Vivekananda College of Arts, Science and Commerce by Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha way back in 1965 in Puttur. It is the very vision of inculcating the spirit of nationalism. At a certain period in history, when there seemed a possible hurdle in the practice of our traditions and belief systems, the initiative for establishing an educational institution that upholds the practice was taken up by a few scholars and thinkers of the region.

The College is located in the outskirts of Puttur town beside Mysore – Mangalore State Highway, spread over a sprawling campus of nearly 50 acres dotted with green vegetation.
